Procedure

  1. Original JPG in Progress/Photography folder

  2. In Lightroom - Import, 1st deletes, rename, edit, export 8x10

  3. If edited in Photoshop, PSD file in Progress/Photography folder

  4. Lightroom or Photoshop exported JPG for turn in should be put in To Be Graded folder with 8x10 at the end of the file name unless otherwise told. 300 resolution/100 quality.

  1. Organizing Folders

    • Photo 1 Students - Know where your DD folder(s) are. If you are no longer taking DD class, move your DD folder into your new photo folder.

      • Rename Photography Folder “Your Name Photo 25-26” 

      • Create new sub folders 01 Progress, 02 To Be Graded, 03 Exhibit

      • Make Photo Assignment folders in Progress folder

      • Open Photography Journal (Google Classroom)

        • Create a tab on the left for career related entries

    • Ashlynn, Macyn 

      • Rename Photography Folder “Your Name Photo 25-26” 

      • Make a new folder in your photo folder called Your Name Photo 24-25 and move last year’s Progress, To Be Graded, & Exhibit into it. 

      • Create new sub folders 01 Progress, 02 To Be Graded, 03 Exhibit

      • Make Photo Assignment folders in Progress folder

    • Locate and open Photography Journal (Google Classroom)

      • Mark the start of a new school year with a line or something

      • Create a tab on the left for career related entries

    • What makes a good photo, Basic tips to a good photo

    • Group Critique

      • Analyze - Fact vs Fiction, what do you see, no opinion

      • What category would it fall into in-order to approach the experience through that “lens.” commercial, portrait, wedding, event, still life, editorial/journalism

      • Experience - My experience of the photo is….

        • What do you connect with as a viewer, personalize, storyline, emotion. “This feels like when I…..” Begin to put together what the photo is about for the viewer. This looks like the subject is doing….

  4. Macyn - Work on Website.

  5. Ashlynn - Update website , Create poster that demonstrates aperture and shutter speed

  6. Photo 1 How-to & Get to Know your Camera

    • Camera Raw vs JPG 

    • Read through How-To Section from this page.

    • Make a section in your Photo Journal for "Get to know your camera." 

      • Shoot the same object/scene with each setting including white balance, ISO, f-stop, and shutter speed. 

      • Then move to a new location and shoot the same object in a scene with different lighting with each setting again.

      •  Put photos in your "Get to know your camera" folder.

      • Ms. Murphy will help you import & rename files in Adobe Lightroom. Compare the EXIF Data in the MetaData Panel to understand the differences. 

      • Write down your discoveries in your photo journal & turn in to Google Classroom
